Lowes Metals take delivery of a new LEFORT Koloss 1000 TS

Lowes Metals, long standing customer of Lefort, have installed the latest Koloss 1000 TS shear for their facility in Standford-le-Hope (UK). Over many years Lowes have been working a Lefort shear in their family yard located in Grays, Essex.Their recent move to their new yard has allowed them to expand the business and the need to increase production. One of the first job on the list was to order a new Lefort capable of taking on this new challenge.

The Koloss 1000 TS comes from our Multi-Block range of machinery wich are shipped in a number of pieces and assembled onto a simple foundation. The TS model uses the famous Lefort wrap around box, combined with the window crosshead design, and is capable of processing up to 30T/hr.

The machine was installed in a week and has surprised the operator about how fast it is. “The box closes so quickly, you have to be much quicker on the controls to keep up. On the old machine I used to get a break during the auto cyle, but this machine is finished cutting in no time !”

The Koloss 1000 Ts is a very popular machine with many machines currently running and quite a few more due to be delivered this year.

Tech Specs: Cutting Force 1000T, Hold down 200T, Box Closing force 2 x 400T, Pusher Ram force 180T, Cutting Width 940mm, Box length 8 metres, Box section opened 2850mm, Hydraulic oil tank capacity 6000l, Electric or Diesel versions.
